Easter is the Christian feast commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the theological point of view, Easter today encloses in itself all the Christian Mystery: with passion, Christ was sacrificed for man, freeing it from original sin and redeeming his nature now corrupt, allowing him to switch from Vice to virtue; with the resurrection has won the world and death, showing the man his destiny, i.e. the resurrection on the final day, but also the awakening to the true life; Finally, there is the expectation of the Parousia, the second coming, which will bring to fruition the Christian feast of Easter Scritture.
La is mobile, is fixed from year to year on the Sunday following the first full moon (the full moon) after the vernal equinox (March 21).
This system was established in the 4th century. In previous centuries could have different customs on the date forward, all still linked to the calculation of the Passover. In particular, some churches of Asia followed the tradition of celebrating Easter on the same day of the Jews, without taking account of Sunday, and were therefore known as quartodecimans.
This gave rise to a dispute, known as the Quartodeciman Passover, between the Church of Rome and the Asian churches.Therefore, in the Catholic Church, the date of Easter is between 22 March and 25 April. In fact, if the March 21 is a full moon, and this day is Saturday, the day after Easter (March 22);
If it's Sunday, Easter is the following Sunday (March 28). On the other hand, if the full moon occurs on March 20, the next one will occur April 18, and if this day was for a Sunday should wait until the following Sunday, April 25.A small part of the Orthodox Church follows the Julian calendar for all parties while the rest has taken only the date of the Equinox and therefore the date of Easter varies from 4 April to 8 May.
The tradition of the Catholic Church wants the date of Easter should be announced to the faithful by the priest during the rituals of the Festival of Epiphany (January 6).
