BIRDS COLORING PAGES
The birds are a class of vertebrates theropods that are found in almost all ecosystems, from the Arctic to Antarctica.
Depending on the various currents followed by taxonomists, the number of bird species known so far ranges between 9,000 and 10,200, of which at least 120 became extinct in historical times.
They are winged, bipedal animals, omeotermi and oviparous.
Their sizes range from 5 cm of small and lightweight hummingbirds of Elena to 2.7 m of ostrich, an African bird unfit for flying.
All birds have forelimbs modified into two wings and this feature allows, to almost all the members of the class, fly.
This ability to fly has led to the evolution of particular anatomical adaptations, among which we can mention also the digestive system and the respiratory system.
Most of the birds has demonstrated great intelligence, and species such as crows and parrots are considered among the most intelligent animals.
Many birds are able to modify and use small items in order to pursue their own purposes, and it is now found that in some species there is a transmission of knowledge between generations.
Birds are social animals that live in colonies, often communicating through visual signals or a canal. Often participate in social behaviours such as hunting and self-defense.
